Style Challenge - Adventure Time

Description

So when I asked you lot what you wanted to see more of the answers I got the most were "Pre 2011 OC's and the style challenge" Since the style challenge involves both of these things I went with that.

And can I just add that I have forgotten how FUN the style challenge is!!! Why did I deprive myself of such joy!? For those of you who are new to the rodeo you can read all about the Style Challenge here, I'm kind of ignoring my own list at this point and just throwing on any style that catches my fancy.

One thing that keeps me coming back to this project even years later is that I still like the images I drew for the style challenge. Doesn't sound like a big deal but I think I have a problem a lot of developing artists do is when I look back at my old work and I cringe. I don't do that with the style challenge images. I look at them now and I am still as proud of them as I was when I first drew them. ( except for Disney and Klasky Csupo I think I may re-do those two)

This one I choose to ease back into the style challenge with a style thats simplistic- but I still love it to bits. Adventure Time. I think Adventure Time has become as popular as it has because it encompasses a lot of things that made Cartoon network a house hold name. The art is cute and whimsical, The animation is smooth and looks very old school 2-D, and it contains just the right amount of getting crap past the radar, yet it's modern and relate-able. I really loved this show when I had cable (I don't anymore so I haven't seen anything past season 2). Tossing this into the style challenge started as a joke that I just took too seriously apparently.

But I hope it segues me into better styles for the challenge!

More of the Style Challenge.

Please continue and consider Naruto style, in other words, the art style of manga illustrator Masashi Kishimoto.
