For those of you who read my journals you'd know that I have recently become very active in the world of Roller Derby, I HAD NO IDEA that my shitty little city had its own league! I go to the games infact there’s one coming up this Saturday I’m headed too AND I just ordered myself a set of cheap-O skates on eBay (I’m not made of money to buy a SAFE pair) and soon hopfully I'll be on a team myself,
Which brings us to the art! This is the first roller girl themed pic I’ve posted but not the first one I've done. So you'll be seeing more X3 I loooove everything about roller derby, the thrill of the game, the team unity, the beaten and bashed nature and the cute derby outfits! What’s not to love!? I was inspired, a fresh spark I haven’t felt fer a long time. This song helped inspire it too, it's like a roller girl anthem! I used candy because if any of my characters are used to a lil bruising, it's her.

side bar - Funny, It takes me 20 minutes to sign into my messengers but it's a breeze to upload shit to DA, what kind of pick and choose virus have I got on my hands this time? Regardless, I WAS supposed to reformat my computer today but even that has bumps in the road, (any tech nerds out there wanna give me a hand?)

The girl looks great, I love her winking eye and the little black kissy lips, not to mention that her hair looks great. The skates are super-cute and I adore how the bruises look. How'd you do those, anyway?

I need to brush up on drawing shakes I really do, buuut the bruises were my favorite part! I just colored the tip of my finger with a red sharpie and smeared it where I wanted, then i did the same with a dash of purple and licked my finger tip and smeared until the paper started to flake off a tad...crude, but effective.

It's not like I don't have anything clever to put in my signature. It's just that it's afraid of your tumor. You know, the one you call a "face".
and well..it's hard to expalin, there now ball or puck involved it's like amixture of field hockey,bumper cards and red rover...the object of the game is for the 2 jammers (one form each team) to try to get threw a pack of blockers to the front of the pack and lap them around the tink, thats how points are scored, no pack, no points and theres 2 piviots ( also one from each team) who comtrol the pace of the pack, if ya don't know whats going on it's hard to tell, but the jammers wear stars on their helmets and the piviots wear sprites so the crowd can tell who is doing what. it's alot of fun.
