Today is a very special day for me. It was on THIS day exactly 10 years ago that I became a Gorillaz Fan. ( It’s also Candy's Birthday) so for the occasion I dusted off my traditional media and colored this old school 8) just like I did when I was 13.

That may not seem like a big deal to most of you but my life changed that day, the first time I saw Gorillaz on the midnight run on Toonami was the event that put me on the path in life I'm on now.

I don't want to get all deep on you guys but if not for them? I never would have started drawing seriously. I mean I always drew as a hobby and I thought I was pretty good for a 13 year old, but I didn't want to make a career out of it. ( I wanted to be a Zoologist) but within days I was hooked and I drew My First Gorillaz Fan art. Gorillaz was just the push I needed to get out of my sheltered little bubble. It was also my gateway drug to the Internet. I made so many friends in Gorillaz communities some of which I still have now ( like ~zombielily & *cinda7 ) when I never had many friends growing up ( I was "the weird girl") and drawing lead to me having friends in real life, I went to an art school and made awesome friends ( including my best friend ~celluloid-dreamer ) I grew up with Gorillaz, went to my first concert, met my first love ( ~Starbucks ), Entered my first contest, Got my first heart break, Took my first road trip, The number of life experiences I owe this band go into the triple digits, but I am rambling.

I wouldn't change much if I could. Even the bad stuff helped me grow, made me stronger and taught me invaluable life lessons.

So matter how old they get, how washed up, how ugly or how crappy their music gets I am eternally in their debt and I will forever be a devoted fan.

I shudder to think of where I'd be without them....one thing is for sure.

I wouldn't know any of you. And THAT alone is something to be grateful for
