My Entry for Round Three of the #Miss-OC-Pageant!
This is the dress to go along with this mask.
This Rounds Theme: Masquerade!
As I said in the previous piece my inspiration for Candy's look is Mardi Gras meets Día de los Muertos which are two subjects very close to my heart. I spent some time in New Orleans this year, the masquerade capital of the world, had delicious food and got REAL Mardi Gras beads and masks and I've been struck with such divine inspiration for this round! not to mention one of my favorite Holidays is just around the corner! Día de los Muertos! (Day of the Dead) I love that holiday, I think it's a great way to look at the afterlife! so for this round I combined them!
~celluloid-dreamer accompanied me on the trip to New Orleans so it's only appropriate that I include as Candy's date to the Masquerade his boy Arick, it's always great to go to these things with a good friend which was fun for me Because I got to dress him up as well!
The Colors of Mardi Gras are purple, green and gold and the colors of Día de los Muertos! are purple, orange and pink. so I stuck with purple and orange (same color family) to celebrate the best of both worlds! I had SO much fun Designing Candy's dress I wanted it to be a modern take on a classy look with an eerie touch, I'm pretty pleased with it and I hope you are too!
I bet you're all asking yourselves "are those bones real!?"... only Candy & Arick know and their not telling
